Mark and Mackenzie Murphy and our staff are dedicated to making every visit to our practice a wonderful experience. A Father-Daughter Team with a Shared Passion for Smiles
Dr. Mark S. Murphy, DDS
Dr. Mark Murphy has served the Castro Valley and Hayward communities since 1981. He graduated from University of California at Davis with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology and later graduated from University of the Pacific School of Dentistry.
He values using the most advanced technology in order to provide patients with the best in health, esthetics, comfort, and convenience for restorative procedures. Dr. Murphy has utilized CEREC CAD/CAM technology since 1997, allowing patients to have single-unit crowns completed in just a few hours. He is active in various local computerized dental study groups and has helped instruct other dentists in the CEREC CAD/CAM technique. He is also skilled in placing and restoring implants.
Dr. Murphy is married with a daughter, Mackenzie, who he is proud to have joined him at the office. He enjoys nature photography that he shares throughout the office, as well as fishing, golf, barbecuing, and travel.

Dr. Mackenzie Murphy is a Bay Area native who grew up in her father’s dental office, knowing at a young age that she wanted to pursue a career in dentistry. She is grateful for the amazing mentorship from her father and strives to continue his legacy of providing patients in the Castro Valley and Hayward areas with beautiful, healthy smiles using the most up-to-date technology and conservative approaches.
She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Williams College in Massachusetts. There she was a First Team All-American softball pitcher and first baseman, as well as an Academic All-American and Female Scholar Athlete of the Year for her college.
Dr. Murphy was proud to follow in her father’s footsteps in attending University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, where she graduated with high honors, earning distinguished membership in the honor societies of Phi Kappa Phi, Omicron Kappa Upsilon, and Tau Kappa Omega. She was the recipient of the Drs. Wai Ming Chan and Ruby Yu Endowed Scholarship which is awarded to the senior student with the highest clinical GPA who is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry. She also received the William W.Y. Goon OKU Award for excellence in endodontology, interdisciplinary clinical sciences, and student scholarship.
Outside the dental office, Dr. Murphy enjoys travel, golf, softball, baking, reading, and, of course, rooting for the Giants, Warriors, and 49ers.
